Throttle module S60 2001

I have had numerous problems with my 01 S60 and am wondering if others have had similar experiences. The latest occured today when it conked out on the highway (fortunately I was able to pull to the side!) and had to have it towed in. It was a faulty throttle module. I have had to have the fuel pump replaced twice in four months (is this legit or was the mechanic grasping at straws?) as well as a new starter.

Please let me know if anyone else with a 01 S60 is also having troubles...I'm ready to trade-in and am wondering if I should give Volvo my business...needless to say, after having to be towed four times since October and having the car in the shop for more days than I care to mention, I'm pretty frustrated (and angry).

I love the car (other than the break-down factor) and am looking for some advice/guidance about my next vehicle. On that same note, what are your impressions of the AWD model vs. the FWD? I would like the AWD but want to make sure it is reliable and worth the extra few bucks.

Thanks a lot!
JM
