fuel pump problem 850 1997

The most common problems with the fuel pump "system" are;

1) Bad fuel pump relay (103 in the cowel fuse box, you have to take off the 4 torx screws that hold the top on the fuse box to see the relay)

2) A bad connection where the fuel pump connects back in the trunk. Fold down the seat back on the passenger side, move the gray covering in the area of the rear shock (right side) and you will see all kinds of wiring connections. The connector you want to inspect is the one that has Pink and black with red and black, sometimes that connection looks burned or melted and that would be the problem.

3) You actually have a bad fuel pump that needs replacing, it could be binding.
