It may be a faulty sensor or the timing has jumped a tooth on the drive belt.
Try taking off the top timing belt cover 2 bolts and pull the top outer cover off.
you can then have a look at the belt and if it is slack(it should be tight) then don't run the engine and get a new one on or the tensioner may be playing up if the belt is'nt due to be changed.
If it has started jumping teeth then you are very close to wrecking the engine top half.
