Looking at a 850 850

Agree with the other guys. Make sure the tranny has been flushed as there are a lot of them around with the origional fluid still in them. Volvo, not wanting to give the impression that these are fairly high maintance cars ( they are) just "didn't address" changing the fluid. A lot of folks (aka non readers of the brickboard) don't do anything that isn't written in the owners manual. Compounding the problem is these trannys don't have an internal filter.
