intermittent contact problem and Radio Off 850 1996

An electrical contact must be playing up. It caused the engine to stop while my wife was driving. It came back immediately, but now we got two problems:

- finding the contact. Any ideas of typical trouble spots ? The car is booked to a Volvo specialist anyway within three days, because it is losing coolant. Perhaps it leaks on the cables ..?

- the Radio has gone OFF after my wife has tried a few codes. I now have the correct code (I think), but I wonder whether the garage can enter it, or do they need a Volvo dealer ?

- well yes, the third question is: where is all that coolant going ? It started ten days ago, and the liquid seems to go missing even if we are not driving for a day. It is summer here in Sydney, but the engine does not overheat and hasn't lost power. Radiator ? Hoses ? Water Pump ? Expansion Tank ? Cap ? Or, (perish the thought) Head Gasket ?

Suddenly, quite a few problems for an 8-year old which is hadly traveling these days.
