Clunking sound over bump 850

I would suggest that you have your lower motor mount checked to see if it may be the reason for the clunking sound. I had a similar situation with my '96 850 Turbo and I could not find anything at all loose underneath the car.
My independent Volvo mechanic found the lower mount to be broken, replaced it, and no more clunk whatsoever. Good Luck, Fred.
