How accurate is 'distance to empty'? 850

I hear its very accurate. I've taken mine done to 30 km. The cars too heavy to push to a gas station.
The computer constantly takes the tank level and your mpg and calculates your dte. If you reset your mpg and then goto dte you'll see the dte coming up with some different numbers depending on your driving habits. if you reset and floor your turbo on a full tank your dte will come up with a low number. If you reset it and are coasting with no gas you'll have a really high number.
