Ignition switch hassles S70 1998

Hello everyone, 1998 S-70 non-turbo, ignition switch does not turn completely to reach the spring loaded part of the travel in the switch at the end, and I can feel a linkage connected to the switch that seems to be blocking and is located somewhere around the base of the dash or console. Anyone have a suggestion or the solution? Obviously car won't start and I'm approximately 200K miles from a Volvo mechanic............
