ditto the other posts on the permanant feed wire...an easy way to check this is will the unit eject its magazine with the ignition off....it should!

skipping....did you check the alignment of the adjusters on the ends of the unit prior to mounting...there are adjusters on BOTH ends that need to be changed to suit the angle of mounting..sort of like cresants with a sprung 'pip' that needs to be moved...fro mmemory the 'pip' should be at the verticle position in relation to the road...this adjusts the damping springs i believe...

certainly mine has probably skipepd once in about 6k miles....and that was one mendatious pot hole!
