Depends on a couple of things. 850

First, which synthetic. There is more difference between synthetics than there is between non-synthetics.

Any of the synthetics are capable of going at least the Volvo recommended drain interval. The better synthetics can go 2-3 times that, but you really won't know unless you have the oil analyzed.

Back in the dark ages, when my 245 turbo oil drain recommendation was 3500 miles, I did samples at 3500, 7000 and 10,500 miles. AMSOIL was still suitable for continued use--but it looked nasty and had been in a year, so I dumped it.

I'm running 3 turbos now, kids run 3 more. Using AMSOIL Series 2000 0W-30, drain interval of 10K or 1 year.
