Flametrap replacement time? 850

i suggest you know your ground a little bette before making such sweeping statements....for others safety if not your own...

the NA 850's should all be fitted wiuth flame shields (volvo part no 1389657 amongst others), removal of thi part can cause catastrphic engine failure - and potential danger to the car and occupants - due to a flame front entering the crank case and igniting vapour thus casuing the crank case to contain an internal explosion...

As with most other TURBO volvo's the flame shield should NOT be fitted - indeed on the 850 i think it would be impossible to fit it without changing parts...

for a NA 850 a flame trap should ALWAYS be used...
