2000 V70 acceleration 'burp' V70-XC70

I have a 2000 V70 that more often than not, hesitates when accelerating from a stop or very slow speed. It's best described as a lurch. Has anybody experienced a similar issue with this model? It shifts fine once you get going. Purchased in Sept 03 at 45,000 miles from the original owner, nothing in the service records which were maintained at the dealership where it was originally purchased, reflects any work having been done on it for this problem. Didn't start doing it until I had put 1000 miles on it. Weather doesn't seem to affect it, does it warm or cold temperatures warm or cold engine. Thanks for any ideas.
