The great code mystery, Help? What are these codes?

Here is my current understanding of the codes available on a new model.

1. OBD-II Available to all, using Govt mandated OBD-II port. Many folks have a reader (I do) and can get some hints of problem areas using this.

2. Volvo propriatary codes, used by VADIS and, as far as I know, not available except Through VADIS at Volvo dealers.

3. A new (to me) 2 digit code which can be obtained by holding in the Trip Odometer button for 10 seconds or more, until a ding is heard, while there is a check engine lite and a message in the window. The code appears in the msg window.

Does someone know where to find the meaning of these codes?
Several examples;
My 2000 S80 -- OBD code P014 Cam position sensor-CVVT solenoid. Msg window "Emissions service required" Per item 3. code 42
The alldatadiy code cross reference says this is a VADIS code ECM-644A.

Second example from this BB---- Msg Window "Performance reduced" Per item 3, code 45.

Third example 2000 S80 "Brake failure urgent" msg on starting car. 2 dig code 17. Msg gone on restart. Never came back 2 mos.

In summary these 2 digit codes have no obvious correspondance to OBD-II or VADIS codes.

Does anyone have any info on these codes. This would be very valuable to all for trouble shooting purposes.
