On the non technical/replacing stuff side of things, I notice the a/c makes a BIG difference to the performance of the car. Is it possibly just whether this is on/off?

Probably sounds silly, but you did say you just bought the car & i did think it is worth a mention, the difference is performance is very noticeable.

Not sure about mileage the 23mpg. Mix between city & hwy travelling i usually get around 12L per 100km. Unsure of how it converts. Just highway travel at 100kmh, average is around 9L/100km.
