S80T6 Geartronic in traffic S80 2001

I just upgraded from a '97 V70 T5 to a "01 S80 T6 which only has 14,664 miles to it. So far I haven't had the chance to floor the car since traffic here in the Philippines is so bad that the average speed everyone drives is 6 mph. After reading all the nightmares about the transmission can anyone advise me whether by using the geartronic and leaving it in either gears 1 or 2 in traffic give me a longer life on the tranny?
