Heavy black smoke, lambda light on in 1998 C70 C70

Vehicle operates at very high altitude in La Paz, Bolivia at 12000 feet above sea level. Shortly after being imported to the country the Lambda light came on. There is also heavy and dense black smoke coming from the exhaust during idle and sudden acceleration. The car was taken to a regular shop as the official Volvo dealer in Bolivia no longer offers service. They changed sensors, but the problem reocurred after a couple hundred kilometers. A fuel pressure regulator was also replaced without any success. any advise?
