Insturment cluster removal 850

When I removed my instrument cluster (to replace a bulb out) using the Haynes manual, I first removed the SRS (airbag) module on the glove box side to get the dash off. So two comments: first, you shouldn't remove the SRS without disconnecting the cable (danger of setting it off), second you shouldn't turn on the ignition without the SRS installed or you'll trip the SRS light. Resetting the SRS light requires a trip to the dealer or other shop and often they charge for resetting it.

I had to wait to get the replacement bulb, so instead of running the car for a few days without the instrument cluster (agree it is not a good idea), I put the cluster back in but ran it without reinstalling the big parts of the dash. And be sure to never turn on the ignition (or even hook the battery up) without the SRS properly hooked up.
