Keep the USA V70 2001 in Canada? V70-XC70 2001

Moved to Canada (now a single parent) - have my 2001 V70 with me. It will cost me roughly $2000 in duty and taxes to register the car here - combined with what I've been paying lately in repairs, I'm not sure if it's worth it. Given the age of the car and what I've been reading here, it's only going to get worse. Good points - it protected me admirably when I was hit by a young girl who ran a stop sign (the Volvo flipped her Blazer which rolled twice and was totaled - she was ok as was I, police said what saved me was the Volvo) and it is great in the snow when equipped with good snow tires. The negative aspects are the cost and frequency of repairs, and the duty issue. Selling in the US is difficult because I'm not there. Any ideas?
