sounds like metal sliding/rolling on plastic, eh?

Exactly! I thought it was in the passenger side door panel at first. Took it off and there was nada! Then looked all around under the passenger seat, still found nothing. Then just did a test drive up my street - hard acceleration, hard brake, over and over, listen to that bugger slide! Sounds now like it is in the center console, I'll have to look for the heater duct and see if that is the culprit. I gather it runs under the passenger seat near the console? Will get under and take a look. Thanx for the info!
