'01 V70 Turning Radius Problems -- decision time V70-XC70

The tried and true "emergency brake hold" can significantly reduce the turning radius. This method can also be used in reverse by quickly releasing the gas and stomping on the brake. Make sure your coffee is well below half full before performing this manuver. Unfortunatley, tire life expectancy drops quickly the more you rely on this trick to avoid the dreaded three point turn.

I first found out about this little turning radius "issue" while trying to make what appeared to be a reasonable u-turn. On coming traffic was almost as surprised as I when the car didn't come close to clearing the opposite curb. Nothing as exciting as trying to choose between a 8" curb and getting T-boned.

.....so much for safe design.
