What to buy? 850

I'm thinking about purchasing an 850 or 740 wagon(never had a Volvo before). Now I know these vehicles are as different as night and day, one's front the other is rear wheel drive. But as far as maintenance and/or reliabilty goes is one better than the other? Is there any major issues to watch out for on either?
