Headlight Wipers 850

Given the limited amount of time the headlight wipers are ever in use, I find it hard to believe that they actually wear out. My guess is that the problems are almost always due to corrosion or dirt build-up on the electrical contacts that tell the wiper where to park. I have had exactly the same problem on my '87 BMW when it had 99k and 14 years old, and cured it by following the recommendations on a BMW board about disassembling motor and cleaning all contact areas. Apparently this is common on BMW's with light usage, and seems highly likely that it is the same thing here with Volvo wipers. I don't think it would take over an hour to pull the wiper motor and check out the insides.
