rear deck speakers 850 1996

Hi one of my rear deck speakers is blown out and I wanted to put Infiniti Kappas in to replace them. So I ordered the 6x9 in speakers and when they got here went to put them in they wouldnt fit!! I then measured liek I shouldve done before and realize the stock speaker is a 5x9 Has anyone replaced the reardeck speakers? is there any way to replace the speakers without using the factory speaker enclosures(the black box with grill that fits on the speaker)
