Why is a '99 S80 T6 with 75K miles worth less than a 17 year old Acura Legend with 285K miles?

I tried to trade in my '99 S80 T6, and the most any Volvo dealer would pay was 5K, because the dealers advised that "the word is out" on this car, and they wouldn't want it on their lot. I looked in the paper, and the only luxury car priced in the $5K neighborhood was the 17 year old Legend with 285K

My car is in absolutely pristine condition, and I'd gladly sell it to anyone who would pay me $7.5K "as-is" (who didn't know where I lived).

This car would be a bad deal for free.
