Which fluids do you recommend? S70

Engine oil - volvo dont use sythetic (unless you have a D5), why should you? change frequently is more important (monthly if you drive reasonable miles ,or every 6k if you dont do that in a month)

Coolant - having seen what non volvo coolant does to a 740 engine (read turns it into scrap!) volvo's own, change every 2 years for anti corrosion properties..

Auto transmission - Any Dexron III approved oil. Flush every year or 25k on a fwd volvo (or risk a new tranny...ask the 850 owners who didnt!)

Break fluid - Dot4 (unless your very heavy o nthe brakes in which case 4+ MAY be worth it...) change at 2 years MAX due to its hydroscopic nature..

Power steering - atf cahnge every 2 years

manual boxes, fluid as specified by volvo once a year or every 30k whichever sooner (FEEL the diference...)

fluids are about the cheapest and easiest maintenance and OFTEN beats EXPENSIVE in my book...how do I know, well i took a pueguot petrol engine to 300k miles on monthly oil changes and bugger all else and that will do for me - oh yes it was dyno oil bought in sodding great drums too!
