Purring/Whirring noise when accelerating on drivers side?? S70

Hi,

My 1998 S70 GTAS has just started with this purring/whirring noise (almost sounds like air being moved at high pressure) on the drivers side of the car. This only happens when I accelerate. It's gotten louder recently, but i'm hestitant to take it back to the dealer as I just had the rack & pinion replaced today... any idea what this could be? Also, I just started using Mobil 93 grade gasoline in it, i don't know if this could be the cause of the noise as well.
