New Owner of a 1998 V70 XC V70-XC70 1998

Greeting all:
Well for better or worse I have purchased a 1998 Cross Country with 103k miles. Are there any recommendations on what to do first?
Is there a dealer site or link to check on maintenance records from the dealer?
Is there any preventive maintenance that anyone would recommend.
It appears the car was a one owner car sold in auction and then I picked it up.
Other than that I don't know much. Is there a way to find out who the original owner(s) was/were?
What about extended warranties? Should I consider one? (Last time I got an extended I got screwed and got screwed bad - maybe things have changed? That was 20 years ago).
Any and all comments, suggestions are welcome ( as long as they are postive hee hee)
