'99 S70 Driver Door Support Arm - Broken Spot Weld? S70 1999

The driver's door on my '99 S70 recently started making a very loud "pop-pop" noise when opening/closing the door. A cursory inspection revealed that at the point where one of the small upper support arms goes into the frame there appears to be a broken broken spot weld (compared to the passenger door at same location).

When I called the dealer, they told me I had to take it to a body shop for repair. Does it just need a quick spot weld?

Any recommendations on a fix? Thanks!
