Small oil leak from intercooler V70-XC70

Ok; so I took my '98 XCV70 to a Volvo independent to have the serpentine belt and timing belts changed and asked them to look into the small oil leak that's developed under my radiator. I've got 63K on my Volvo and have had only routine maintenance done on it.

The service mgr. just called me to tell me that the oil leak is 'normal' and that it's a result of a small amount of oil from the intercooler which has a small hole in it to relieve pressure. I guess I'm uncomfortable with that since the car hasn't leaked any oil for 5 years and all of a suddent there is a small leak - it is small, but a leak nonetheless.

Any one have any ideas on this?
