Here's an update for anyone interested in this thread. Got it back from the dealer today. They replaced a purge valve. I'll have to wait a bit to know if the problem is really fixed or not but they seemed confident this time. Not sure why they had no clue last time though! The manager there talked about another customer's car that needed the purge valve replaced so it may be a known issue. Didn't get much background on exactly what this valve does though.
