Spend the $30.00 and get all four shoes. If one of the shoes is starting to separate, the others are probably not far from it. The job is not difficult, but does require a little finesse getting the springs on. I use a tool with a hook on it go grab the spring to pull it into place. The Haynes manual has decent instructions - make sure you adjust them after installation.
