New 2000 S70 AWD owner...a little concerned. S70 2000

Eugene,
Welcome to the Brickboard....and relax. Realize, that the nature of a forum like this is that people come with their problems. By and large, your car should provide years of reliable service as long as you provide it with reasonable care. Regular oil changes, flush the transmission every 30K or so, and for the AWD, keep the tires of comparable diameter front and rear. If one needs to be replaced and the others are at least half worn, you will probably need to replace all 4. This is true of most AWD systems, and is the price for the added security in slippery situations.
I have 126K on my 98 XC, and have been very pleased with its performance. Yes, there have been some annoyances along the way (this summer, I'll probably need to repair the ABS box), but it is a very enjoyable car to drive, and every winter it gets me up and down the roads of Mt Rainier, often through considerable snow and ice, with no drama whatsoever.
Welcome, and enjoy your new car!

Gordon
