So, what is it about 850 wheels? 850

I would've gone the ebay route, but I rely on the winter steel wheels for potholes. The pothole accident happened just after I got the winters off, and had to find one quick with school vacation just around the corner (planning on a road trip).

I do see a set of four on ebay right now, ~$400 with 3 days left.

What is it with 850 wheels getting damaged so easily? I lived in the same area close to 20 years, and this is the first car (for 1.5 yrs only) with TWO pothole damages, one on alloy, one on steel. Other cars I've owned never had such issues, steel or alloy wheels, and yes, I have gone over potholes in other cars as well. I don't think my (or my wife's) driving has changed much at all. If anything, I've become much more careful.

Is it the tight suspension/springs on this car that makes it less forgiving? Even the shop owner said they see a lot of 850s come in with bent wheels.
