synthetic vs. non-synthetic oil S40-V40

My 2000 S40 has started buring oil so I've decided to waste some money on a potentially cheap fix - Auto-RX. We'll see if anything happens, as you can tell my expectations aren't very high, but who knows. I only have one concern and that is switching from synthetic to non-synthetic oil because of the turbo. Does anyone here use non-synthetic in their turbo? Does anyone think that this would be a bad idea (other than the wasting of money)?

Thanks for the help.
