Check Engine light...computer? S70

The only way to know for sure is hook up an OBDII reader and read the
stored error codes. That will tell you what tripped the light. Did
the mechanic mention what codes were read?

I have had my 98 S70 stall (twice) and that tripped the CEL light. The code
indicated turbo over boost. But I was at idle and stopped when it happened
(so there was no over boost possible). So it is possible the code is not accurate and there can be another cause. A dealer would have the most
experience with these "edge" cases.
