V70 Rear Lock Replacement V70-XC70 1998

The part number is 8626186; list price is $110.32. It's a pretty lengthy blow-by-blow, but once your in there it's pretty self-explantory. Your going to putting the window up and down to get to stuff, and to make sure you don't break stuff. Volvo says to unhook the battery while doing all of this. Take off the panel (those lower clips are picky so be careful). You may have to drill out rivets to take off the support bracket to get to the lock mechanism, so be prepared for that. Remove the bolts holding the window glass rear guide to the door. Pull the seal off, then pull the guide out of the way. Unclip the handle link rod from the lock assembly. Move inner handle out of the way. Pull the access plug from the door, and the pull the handle bolts. Unclip the outer handle, and pull it out of the way. Maneuver the lock out of the opening, then put the new one back in, and then put it all back together.
