You have no flashing light alerting you to a miscommunication in the transmission, right? Do you have any codes in A7, combined instrument? My book states that the car should still shift at the correct speeds, but that the shifts will be harsh. 93 has alot of first year only stuff...I'm wondering if the instrument cluster may be one of them. Check there next if you have no flashing tranny lights.
