ABS TRACS Warning Light caused by bad Alternator! 850

Maybe this is a long shot - before replacing the ABS controller - check the alternator.

I had a ABS TRACS light come on everytime I started my car. After driving a few miles, stopping the car and restarting, the ABS/TRACS lights would turn off.

The problem was that the alternator was putting out 18V!!! My battery was also in bad shape too from all the extra voltage. After I replaced alternator & battery - everything was fine.

I am amazed at how well the ECU held out - months with such high voltage.
