1991 Volvo 940 Turbo ECU/Cooling Sensor/Check Eng Light problem 1991

My check engine light comes on repeatedly on my --almost everyday--and I know each time its code 1-2-3, for ECU Coolant Sensor. I have
(1) Replaced the Coolant Sensor
(2) Hardwired the Coolant Sensor (bypassed the wiring harness in case there was
a crack in the wiring) to the two computer modules.
(3) Put dielectric compund on the connector to the ECU coolant sensor (underneath
cylinder #3)

Yet still I get the darn Check Engine Light everyday! The funiest thing is I dont have to reset by flashingthe diagnostics computer for 5 seconds twice--my onboard computer to make it go away--all I have to do is disconnect the battery terminal.

DO I HAVE A BAD ECU?
COULD A COOLANT LEAK or momentary Temperature Spasm cause this?
