Driver power seat inoperative 850 1994

My driver's side power seat backrest is just about on the rear seat. It will not raise up electrically from the switch. The seat does work up and down and forward and back but the backrest will not go up. I was told that the seats have some type of computer fault codes just for the them. Can anyone tell me if the codes are cleared whether the seats will work or if a seat from a junk yard would fit, even if I could only get a passenger side one. Thanks
