CD Stacker 850 1995

My car came equipped with a VOLVO factory CD stacker. I have a Wagon so the machine is located in the spare-tire well.

It was playing as usual, then the read-out displayed "E-1" Obviously, it's an error code. When I tried to eject the stack, it wouldn't do anything?

Is it dead? How do I get the CD's out? Where would I take to get it serviced, or is it cheaper to buy a new one?
