Chirping? V70-XC70 1999

As posted over at Swedespeed... I THINK I might have finally exterminated the family of crickets living in my glovebox!

After being annoyed by the chirping for the last 100,000 miles, this weekend I went after 'em. Bought a sheet of self-adhesive felt at the local crafts store ($0.79) pulled out the glovebox, and put thin felt between every contacting surface. I think the major part of the chirping resulted from the naugahide on the lower dash contacting the naugahide on the glovebox door. Also took the trim piece off the glove box door and put felt under that. I also epoxied ($3, Home Depot)and drilled all the cracked/broken screw holes in the dash that the actual box attaches to. So far, after 100 miles driven this morning ... QUIET, or at least it was quiet for a 7 year old Volvo with north of 140k on the clock! Keeping my fingers crossed.

-Punx
