Noise in dash V70-XC70 1999

I'm convinced it is something like what you are describing. I've had the glovebox out and the glove door removed and the sound is still there. Are the parts that you describe visible with the glove box out? Could I get a look with a mirror and a flashlight? The dealer is sincere about fixing the problem and would probably take care of it but they won't replace parts unless there is some visible evidence of a defect.
