Your mechanic won't be able to help you with this one. The radio code
is a theft security code and only the dealer has it and you need the
VIN. Some dealerships require you to show proof of ownership to release
the code.

Once you get the code, save it in a secure place and just punch the
code into the radio and then radio works.
