Antenna help!!! 850 1996

My 96 850 had its antenna snapped about halfway when i forgot to turn the raido off in the car wash. oops.

So i went to IPD and grabbed an antenna unit. I tried folowing the instructions, but it says I need to remove the antenna tube. This is the large tube that goes from the housing to the body of the car.

Now my problem is this. My tube is stuck! Ive tried yanking on it about as hard as humanly possiable. I called IPD and the guy wasnt sure but he thinks its epoxied to the housing. I NEED to get this tube off the housing because the way the antenna broke wont let me pull it through the top like ive seen about 2 sites say to do. what should i do?!?!?

A picture of what im talking about is here:

What I need to do is pull that tube from the black house. as you can see i have taken apart the housing to see if i could push it from the bottom of the tube but theres a plastic peice at the bottoim that wont budge

thanks in advance!
