How to remove the fuse block on a 96 850 850 1996

Hi all,
Quick question I need to remove the top section of the fuse block on my 96 Volvo. The one under the hood right in front of the driverside below windshield. I removed the tope black cover, then I remove the three screws holding the white fuse block in. But the fuse block only comes up about and inch then stops because there is a bottom sections that goes down into the car behind the dash. This section has about 6-8 relays plugged into it and the relays hit against the cowl frame so I can't remove the fuse block. It looks like the top section and the bottom section must separate somehow. Does anyone know if it does and if so, how do you do it? I need to check the ABS motor crimps under the fuse block because I think I have the dreaded bad connection that is only apparant on 96 model years.

thanks for any help
