Temperature Controls faulty on my S70 GLT S70

I have a '99 S70 GLT. The problem is that sometimes I'm not able to turn off the heater even if I turn the temp dials all the way to the cool end. The heat will still be blasting, even if I turn on the air con.

This happens from time to time- not consistently.

Initially, the lights on the air con and outside air intake button would flash when the car is started. The dealer looked at it and didn't seem to find any problems right away and said to monitor the problem first. Looks like a recurring problem now.

Anyone have any suggestions as to what may be faulty here?
