spare tire rotation direction 850 1993

I managed to get a hold of a an extra wheel to serve as a full size spare for my 850. I have a tire for it, but this tire is designed to rotate in a single direction. let's say i mount the tire on the spare wheel to rotate in a clockwise direction, but when i actually need to use the tire, it will be needed on the other side of the car, thereby causing the tire to rotate in a counter-clockwise direction. Will the tire rotating in the opposite direction at highway speeds cause extra friction, then heat, then a blowout? Do you think it is safe to use this tire or should i get another tire?
Thank you in advance for your advice.
