HARD START V70-XC70 1999

Maybe not quite the right description, cause the car starts right up, but it kills me that the beast revs up to like 2000 rpm (I'm guessing - no tach) at first start and I have to listen to all kinds of internal engine components eat each other up for this first second. Is there any way I can control that initial start-up burst so I can give the motor a chance of getting engine oil at start up under this high rev condition. Should I consider replacing the oil pump? I don't believe oil pressure is a problem, although again, there is no gauge. BTW, the car has 60K. Thanks

Marty Wolfson
