Gear Ratio Incorrect- major problem, please? code P0730 850

hallo... i've read some here about the check engine light coming on accompanied by the orange flashing arrow... last night this happened to me and i managed to get the arrow to stop by going slowly through the gears with key turned to on position, but car not started...

the check engine is still on, so i went to AUTOZONE, where it was computer read for free, and here's what i got: code # P0730 ... my question, please-- is has anyone with *gear shifting ratio incorrect* readings ever had it NOT be a major problem? is there something i can do - i.e., park to drive shift many times more? i appreciate any feedback with this problem... the car is a 1994 850 turbo with 129,000 miles...

best,
belle
